Resume Types & Examples
Now that we have compiled your information into one of three categories it's time to create your resume. But first we need to evaluate which resume type would work best for your needs.
Resumes can vary in style and content depending on the targeted audience, your professional background, skills, and education level. Generally, resumes fall into one three different categories; although the information in each category can be the same, the differences are defined by what information is emphasized.
Chronological Resume
A chronological resume is often times the most widely used resume format most employees and employers are familiar with. Your work history and experience is emphasized chronologically with your most recent or current position first. This resume type offers an employer a snap shot of your experience based on your current and/or the last few position(s) held in an easy to follow sequential work history.
The chronological resume type is often used by employees who have an established work history, and are seeking employment in the same or similar field(s) of employment.
